ManMade #02

Glasgow-based photographer Armando Ferrari is adept at creating poetry out of our urban and industrial wasteland. ManMade #02 transforms a smoke cloud over 100ft high into an almost sculptural presence. Not only does the viewer lose any sense of scale, but the ugly becomes beautiful. It’s characteristic of Ferrari’s style that a familiar symbol of pollution is turned into something abstract and even alluring. This photographic sleight of hand is in itself a disruption of our senses; mischievous, provocative and powerful.
