Stephanie Cabrera
Stephanie Cabrera grew up in New York and studied film at McGill University in Montreal. Her first camera, a purple LeClic, travelled with her to New Orleans, France and Kenya as she discovered a passion for photography and an ability to tell stories through it.
It was the influence of her architect father however, that has done most to shape her photographic style. Surrounded by blueprints and architectural drawings at her family home, her photographs have a graphic and illustrative quality that is immediately distinctive.
Stephanie’s work is often described as emotional, subtle and truthful. She is a storyteller, but her images are never contrived or predictable. As she herself says, “The perfect shot keeps you on the edge of your seat but you don’t quite understand why.”
