Red Chairs
Artwork ID: JAMRED00109
Inspired by photographers like William Eggleston, Andreas Gursky and Guy Bourdin, James has a style that is bold, graphic and suffused with colour. James’s work finds a magic in the mundane. From the formless and everyday, he derives a symmetry and structure that is revealing and unusual. The elements in Red Chairs are in themselves almost ugly, and certainly plain. This makes the result even more surprising, as the viewer sees beyond physical plainness to see a richness of geometry and colour.
